A Machine Floater is a versatile and skilled individual responsible for providing support and assistance across various functions within a machine shop. The role involves performing a range of tasks to ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and organization of the shop floor, contributing to the overall productivity and success of the manufacturing process.
Operate and assist with setup of various machine shop equipment (lathes, mills, grinders, CNC machines)
Move materials and parts safely using equipment like forklifts or cranes
Perform quality checks on parts to ensure accuracy and meet standards
Keep work area and machines clean; follow basic maintenance routines
Organize and restock tools and materials as needed
Support team members in setups, tool changes, and production tasks
Follow all safety procedures and wear required protective gear
Record production information clearly and accurately
Stay open to learning new skills and taking on different tasks as required
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in machining or related field is a plus.
Previous experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficiency in using machine shop tools, measuring instruments, and equipment.
Basic understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Pay Rate is $16.31-$17.31 per hour

Training:
All training takes place on 1st shift for up to 90 days to ensure you’re fully prepared for success.
Training typically lasts up to 90 days, though some team members may transition to desired shift sooner depending on performance and readiness. (Early completion is possible but not guaranteed.)
Training pay: $16.31/hour.
After Training:
Move to desired with a shift pay of $17.31/hour.
