A lumber handler with palm sander responsibilities plays a key role in preparing wood materials for production by sanding, handling, and organizing lumber. This position ensures the smooth flow of materials through the production process and supports the overall efficiency and quality of wood products. The lumber handler works closely with production teams, warehouse personnel, and supervisors to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Use palm sanders and other hand tools to smooth and prepare lumber surfaces for further processing or finishing.
Handle, move, and stack lumber according to production needs and safety protocols.
Inspect lumber for defects, ensuring quality standards are met.
Assist in loading and unloading materials from trucks or production lines.
Maintain clean and organized workspaces in sanding and storage areas.
Follow production schedules to ensure timely supply of sanded lumber to necessary departments.
Comply with all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working with lumber or using power tools like palm sanders preferred but not required.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to 50 lbs.
Basic understanding of workplace safety and hand tool operation.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn and follow directions.

Pay Rate: $13 per hour
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
